Signal In The Static

When everything feels loud… your inbox, your inner monologue, the collective energy… sometimes the smartest thing to do is *listen differently*.

Today I sat down and pulled five cards for the collective; for anyone who’s felt stuck, looped, or lowkey haunted by a pattern they can’t name.

Here’s what came through.

The Spread

These were the questions I felt needed some answering this week:

1. What’s the current energy?

2. What needs to be released?

3. What needs to be embraced?

4. What have we been overlooking?

5. What’s trying to come through?

  The Reading

1. Current Energy: Five of Cups (Reversed)

We’ve been swimming in grief- personal, collective, ancestral- but something is beginning to shift. (Finally, right?)

Reversed, this card says: *you’re not stuck*. The sorrow is very real, but you’re no longer lost in it. The static is clearing. You’re starting to notice what’s still here, and what’s worth salvaging.

2. What Needs to Be Released: Nine of Pentacles

This one might sting a little: the performance of perfection.

We need to drop the hyper-independence, the need to be seen as successful, stable, and self-contained. This card asks us to release the illusion that we must do everything alone, and that being "fine" is the same as being fulfilled. Now is the time to lean on each other and strengthen our support networks.

Let the mask slip, guys. There’s no strength in pretending you don’t need help.

3. What Needs to Be Embraced: Ten of Swords

The ending has already happened, but part of us hasn’t let it land.

This card says: *it’s over. Let it be over*. There’s nothing left to resurrect, no code to debug, just the need to finally unplug from something that’s been draining your system for too long. This is the chance for new beginnings, but they can’t happen if you don’t allow an ending first.

Ritualize the death if you need to. But don’t resist it.

4. What We’ve Been Overlooking: King of Pentacles (Reversed)

There’s a distorted relationship with control or security here.

Maybe it’s chasing stability from ego. Maybe it’s staying tied to toxic systems because they feel familiar.

We’ve overlooked how much we’ve been investing in power structures that don’t support us- or worse, that exploit us. Time to check who’s really running the program.

5. What’s Trying to Come Through: The Devil (Reversed)

Liberation. Big-time.

The reversal of The Devil is a powerful message. It’s not about fear, but about *freedom*. This is the unbinding, the cord-cutting, the moment you realize the cage door was never locked.

Old habits, cycles, thought loops, codependencies… they’re losing their grip.

The question is: will you walk away?

Final Thought

The cards don’t always tell you what’s coming, today it’s about what’s already in motion.

This week’s spread is a quiet reckoning, like a soft system reboot.

There’s nothing to fix.

Just something to release.

If this landed for you, I’d love to hear what came up. You can pull your own version of this spread, or send a cipher if you’re moving through something and want to share it privately.

Here’s to clearer signals and softer exits. 🖤
